I was skeptical whether or not bias lighting would make a difference or not, but I am sold. I am using this on my 2018 Samsung Q8FN, and while it didnt need it for blooming per se, I can honestly say it makes a huge difference (besides looking pretty damn cool). I never watched TV in a completely dark room before, because the TV would be so bright and hurt my eyes after a while. Now, I dont have that issue anymore.
This is an amazing piece of technology. I recommend this no matter what TV you have a no matter how far you sit from it. It makes your TV so much of a focal point.
This thing is amazing! I ordered the medium lenght for my 55 inch curved tv and it works perfectly. I actually just bent the strip to make 90 degree angles and did not cut them - so you can do that too.
I am actually ordering another couple of strands for my other TVs!
So far i love this. It was super easy to install, i could cut it to length and now i have the backlit mirror i always wanted.
All of the lights worked well and have a nice adhesive foam backing.
This is my 2nd purchase of these LED's. I typically put all of them into aluminum channels so as to protect them. These were quite durale in the sense that i used some of them oud in tool shed. here in florida, the heat and humidity will take a toll on them if you don't take step to protect them. i had to use some out there, unprotected ( i was unable go procure additional aluminum channels), and they held up great...so I bought more.
I use these lights in a portable display that I use for craft shows because in pretty well lit indoor halls my products seemed to still be in shadows. These LED lights are so bright I think I've sent at least 10 fellow venders to this listing.
Was the right length for my project. I’ll be getting more for sure.
Very good product, the red color has little brightness, and it is the one I use, but good control reception
Our TV is in a dark corner of a dark room with no overhead lighting. Now we have a little more light. Watching TV without the lamps on was too dark before (could hardly find your glass of water on the coffee table) but perfect with this. It's great because it doesn't have a light shining in anybody's eyes. It doesn't make any "seat in the house" too dark or too bright. I honestly haven't noticed any sharpness in the TV picture. I'm not one of those people who would notice, or maybe our TV is not expensive or large enough for it. It's just been a nice ambient light for a great price and you never have to turn it off and on because it comes on with the TV. Silly little product that I appreciate every day and wish I'd thought of.
My husband is impressed with the adhesive and how flexible the cord was which made installation easy. Simply remove the red backing from the cord and press the lighting onto the back of the TV. I like that we can plug it into a USB port on the TV and the light will turn off automatically when the TV powers down. This was a little more expensive than the other lighting we had and doesn’t have a remote, but it’s a more cost effective option than a Phillips Hue light bar. :) I’d recommend this product.
We really like the lighting on the back of the TV. This is the second light that we’ve purchased and the Luminoodle is truly a white light unlike the other one that we had which was more blue. This makes a difference in the watching TV as the whites are brighter and blacks are darker. I feel like it makes the show or movie coloring more vibrant.
My TV is about a foot from the wall, it casts fading light about two feet around the TV, which I find to be great. It can be brighter or more subtle with your setting. I can go either way from where I watch it. So I love this bias lighting, I like having the color options in addition to clean white. This is a great implementation. I fully recommend it.
The remote works great. It controls brightness, color and mode with ease. It has on/off buttons. Brightness Up/Down. Manual Color buttons, which rotates either direction through the full 15 color selections.Three of the colors are 'white', cool white, medium white and warm white. Next are three buttons that set the mode, the bias strip can fade between the rainbow of available colors and you can set the speed of the fade. I was thinking this could be pleasant, but I don't use it. The fade isn't quite smooth enough for it to be unnoticeable, so it attracts my attention, when I want to be looking at the TV. I mostly use the medium white or deep blue. Under the mode keys are 6 direct selection color buttons, the three whites, red, blue and green. So they directly provide the colors I want and more. It's a very effective remote.
I truly enjoy this bias lighting. The Remote works well. It is powered fine by my unspecified current supply USB port on my old Toshiba TV. It turns on with my TV, for me it stays on for a minute after I turn off the TV, which I find to be perfect. That really depends on how your TV works however.
I enjoy this great bias lighting. Our eyes are extremely sensitive to very minor variations in light in a dark room, this raises the background light level to the point that you don't really notice the subtle back-light variations that are present in even the best State of the Art LED TVs today. I actually wasn't sure I would like the bias lighting, I'd never actually seen bias lighting in action before I got it working on my set.
I purchased the XX large for my 65" OLED tv. I ran the strip along the very edges of the tv since I knew I would be mounting with a very low profile mount. It provides very uniform lighting as you can see from the picture. I had about 5-6 inches to spare that I just cut. The colors are cool, but I will mainly just be using for the white. Only purchased the Pro because I wanted the ability to control the light brightness.
I was very impressed with the light output of these lights even though my TV sits in the corner of the room and is a few feet out from the wall too. It allows us to comfortably watch TV in the dark while still being able to see and it also creates a nice "aura" around the screen. I will say they also seem to make the bright colors in animated movies like Finding Dory pop even more than normal, so much so that even my son says he likes the TV better with the bias lights on it. Bias lights are also supposed to reduce eye strain and I'll take all the help I can get there during my late-night Horizon: Zero Dawn sessions. Overall I am very pleased with the look and function of these lights and highly recommend them.
I wasn't sold on the idea of bias lighting at first but I figured after reading many positive comments on the A/V forums for my Samsung KS8500 I decided I would give it a shot. This kit isn't expensive at all so the risk level was pretty low. Well, I got it in, unrolled it, and stuck on the back of my curved screen. It made it all the way up one side, across the top, and all the way down the other side with no problems just like they stated in their description. If you plug these into the USB plug on the back of you TV then they will even turn on and off with your TV, at least on the KS8500 they do. It took maybe 5 minutes from start to finish.
The Luminoodle is amazing. It truly does add a touch of ambience and backlighting but also does really help with the strain on your eyes. We made the mistake of going cheap and buying the basic model that did not come with a remote or dimmer. We realized it was way too bright but fortunately you can purchase a remote and dimmer to be added on. The length fit our 65inch tv perfectly and the 3m sticky adhesive has well, stuck. I recommend using painters tape first to figure out your configuration on the back of the tv before applying it permanently. A great purchase and am curious to see how long the lights will last.
I installed this (size large, 30-49 or 30x40 TV, depending where you read the sizing) on a 65” Samsung with no issues. I wanted no-frills white lighting that would turn on/off automatically with my TV...because the last thing I need is another remote to lose! Holding the strip in place with a few pieces of painter’s tape while planning out exactly where to put it helped me a lot. To make a rectangular shape with the lights, I had to install them further from the outer edges than recommended by the manufacturer (about 7” from the outer edge, as opposed to the recommended 3-4”), but I am very happy with the result. They stay illuminated for a few minutes after turning off the TV, and then shut off. They have been installed a few weeks and seem to still be adhered to the TV just fine.
Finally, decided to get bias lighting for the television in my bedroom. Granted, some enjoy going night-blind trying to watch one of the ten thousand nothing channels on their cable serivce, but the fad passed with me and after some research I discovered there’s actually a purpose behind people putting lights behind their televisions. And here I just assumed some enjoyed pimping out things around the house since coloured floor lights might look strange on a Prius. Anyway, I found this product and it works perfectly. Different brightness settings, different colours, and it was easy to install. Already notice an improvement when watching Tv at night. Now, to see if I can find a channel with something actually on.
I've never owned anything like this but decided to get the 55" TCL R365 to replace my LG50PM6500 Plasma. I got the Large strand, even though it doesn't say it's for the 55". The book recommends you put it 4 inches from the edge. That seemed to far away, and I put mine 1 inch from the edge. It ran around both sides and top, and just a tad on the bottom. But, with my sound bar, you can't tell it doesn't run across the entire bottom. If I had to do it again, I'd put it about 1.5 to 2 inches from the edge and the large strip would cover the sides and top. I did use masking tap to initially hold in in place, then took the plastic off and stuck it exactly where I wanted it. It look amazing. Yes, the remote works from 9 feet away (even though the book states to be within 3 ft). seems it has 3 brightness settings. We use it on the lowest one and it seems to work just fine. I couldn't watch TV in the dark before without getting a headache... but with these lights on, seems OK to turn off all the other lights in the room - and no issues. I plugged the strip into my old phone USB adapter and put a UPS behind the TV and ran my TV, Xbox One X, Light Strip, and router into it. Great product.
I chose the small version for my 40" TV because I didn't want *too* much ambient light. I centered the strand of LEDS which stretched across the top and about 2/3 of the way down the sides. The corners folded easily. The LEDs aren't really close together but they are bright enough to really enhance TV viewing. I *love* that they plug into the TV's USB connector and turn on and off with the TV - that's really a great finishing touch. I was able to create a very professional-looking ambiance myself for a great price. These are really excellent quality. I liked them so much I bought two other strands to redo my dual computer monitors, which I had previously lit with adhesive LED strips but the clean and easy connections of the Luminoodles are far superior to the flimsy folding connectors I had used before. I added a remote off/on/dimmer switch because my monitors don't have USB connectors, and the lights dim well with no noise/hum. All of my Luminoodles have been great and I highly recommend them.
