Never used a drill bit like this before and it was a great experience to have a try. It is in a glass drill bit shape but can also perform as a robust masonry drill bit. I first used one bit to do a test drilling on a waste tile. It drilled through very well. Then I used it to do some holes in bathroom. It ran fast and easily penetrated the ceramic tile and concrete without using any water. After several holes drilling it still worked as a new bit. Very tough bit head, worked very well as advertised..
I am happy with this purchase. Trying to drill holes in the bathroom tiles to install 3 shower doors. It is sharp at the tip so it doesn't slide like regular drill bit would. U do need to add water so the bit don't get too hot. Also, it is tile, you need to take time to drill through the hole and not put too much pressure on the tile. I can drill through a regular piece of tile in about 15 secs to give you a scale. once it is drilled through, use a regular drill for the sheetrock and wood.
I wanted to drill a hole in a fondue pot so I could use it as a planter, and this got the job done. I thought they were kind of bad quality at first because it took quite a while to drill through, but then I realized I was drilling through "stone-ware" hardened pottery. I later used them on terracotta and they drilled through like butter. Nice little hard plastic case too.
Needed a good bit to hang a fireplace mantle after several concrete bits just lost the edge quickly going in to brick. The bit from this set drilled the hole I needed very quickly and smoothly without losing any of its integrity. I am back on its listing as I am considering another set to have on hand. Very impressive bits.
Exactly what I needed for less money than the stores wanted for 1 drill bit. This cut through the tile like a hot knife to butter. Okay not THAT easy but it was amazing. I used painters tape to help “hold” the bit from slipping and went really slow. After a few rotations I got a nice little indent. I went a little deeper and then switched to a masonry bit which was smaller for my application. But this did exactly what I needed it to do. Very happy with this product. I did not have water on hand to keep the bit cool so I stopped drilling ever few seconds to blow the tip and hole and let it cool before restarting.
These are amazing for drilling holes in pots!! I wasn’t sure because the reviews are here and there, but as soon as these bad boys showed up, I started drilling holes and they work amazingly. The bits don’t walk, either. I used the middle sized bit easily on thick and thin pots with no problems. The world is my oyster now - anything can be a pot!
Worked surprisingly well-the bits aren't terribly sharp though so it does take a bit of drilling time. Go slow and use water as it does get very hot. I also recommend starting with one of the smaller bits and then using a larger bit if you want to enlarge the hole which is what I did. So far I've drilled through a thick ceramic pot, a plastic pot, and this glass jar. Definitely exceeded expectations for the money I paid.
I use these to drill holes into my plant pots that don't already have drain holes and they work perfect for the job. I start off with the smallest bit and work my way up. Sometimes it takes longer for the bit to go through some pots so just be patient and don't try to force it. Would recommend.
Needed something to drill holes in pots for the garden, this did the trick just fine! It’s so frustrating to find great pots when shopping but then see no drainage holes which makes them practically useless for my purposes.
I’ve never used this style of bit before, but it drilled through solid masonry like it was butter. Using just a cordless drill, I was able to drill four 10mm holes 3” deep in less than 2 minutes. What an improvement over the traditional masonry bits! No need to use a hammer drill - in fact, the instructions say not to - you will not need the usual force. Huge find!
After spending loads of time researching drill bits for my porcelain tile job I finally found these and couldn't be happier! I was able to use use these bits for all the items I had to install in my camode/shower stall area of my master suite bathroom. Comman sense told me to use water while drilling and that was a great idea...the two smaller bits I used lasted the entire job and I will be able to use them on my next project also (jack&Jill bathroom)...
