Like good, nice size. Good nonslip foam backing. Quick delivery
They work extremely well and I was able to get a pretty sharp edge. The lack of a razor edge is due to my inexperience with this type of stone and in no way a fault of the stones. Once I get more time and practice I am confident I will be getting razor sharp edges on all my knives.
These diamond stones are of a good size, of a good quality, and comparable to more expensive diamond sharpening stones which I have purchased previously. I also prefer them to sharpening stones made of other materials, such as ceramic, water stones, and natural stone, or sandpaper on glass (all of which I own or have tried). They are flat, cut effectively, and use only water as a lubricant. When I received the order a two sided stone was substituted for one of the single surface stones. The owner contacted me and told me the missing single surface stone would be shipped when it became in stock. I received it recently and the owner noted that I did not need to return the two-sided substitution. Excellent service and communication.
A great stone. Sharpens knives very well. Thanks to the store.
I'm a hobbyist woodworker, which basically means everything I know is from YouTube. I got my first set of chisels and a cheap little whet stone thinking it would hold off (I didn't think about how they would lose shape) . After not getting the cuts I wanted I decided to just bite the bullet and splurge on some diamond stones. After sharpening my chisel on these stones I was able to do the magical paper test like they do on YouTube! These stones are solidly made and we'll worth the investment!
These sharpening plates have been game changers for my ability to sharpen blades. I had a $20 Arkansas stone previously and it was just not very good at anything. Glad I sprung for these. The 300 grit plate is the one that gets the heaviest use for me. Finding all sorts of stuff to sharpen, flatten, take corners off of, etc. Really great.
Bought this set after having become convinced through Paul Seller's videos that it was the way to go for sharpening system. Turns out he knew a thing or two, because after setting them up in a block of wood they work marvelously well. Add stropping compound and leather covered block of wood for the finishing and it would be difficult to find a more simple and robust solution.
Very good thanks to store recommend
If I could go back to my journeyman days, I’d tell myself: “just get the diamond plates, dummy”. Worth every penny, don’t bother trying to save a few bucks here and there by piecing together a set, just bite the bullet and buy yourself the optimal lifetime sharpening solution.
Excellent quality! I ordered the #1000 for carbon knives and the #400 for stainless steel knives: it's perfect! Thank you!
Item was shipped quickly and received in the condition as advertised.
I took a piece by 1000, it works, but I 'd rather Type 600? Especially you row but very slowly, Say that you 'd better order one piece raw and one piece fine, Type 600 + 1000? So funzionerebbe better.
I hit the point in my woodworking hobby where I decided I needed to get my own chisels. And along with chisels, comes the need for an extensive set of things necessary to sharpen & hone your chisels. A waterstone is the second part and is used fairly often to keep a really sharp edge. The waterstones in the wodsowrking shops are another 50% more expensive than this stone. And while I am still a novice at sharpening, I appreciate a less expensive alternative. The silicone and bamboo bases are nice to keep the stone stable while I am pulling and pushing my chisel across the stone. When the stones are wet, they can otherwise be a little slippery. And yes, as other reviewers have noted, most people are going to use this to sharpen their knives.
I found a goodly amount of knives in the kitchen that hadn't been used for about twenty years, and were about as dull as my last date. After a few minutes of patient work? Well...very nice indeed. I'm quite pleased with this, although the instructions were a bit non-instructive. Still, I prefer to sharpen by hand, so I'm used to it.
Well, that was easy! I sharpened all my kitchen knives with ease. The win for me is the guide. My biggest fear with sharpening knives myself has always been doing it wrong. So every two months, I have been using a service to sharpen my kitchen knives professionally. Expensive and time-consuming. I watched a couple of videos and let the magic begin. Straightforward directions. The unit stays put while in use and stores in a tiny amount of space. The most important rule is to saturate the stone entirely with water before use. Otherwise, you will trash your life. Washing quickly by hand after use (never in the dishwasher) and storing correctly. This is the final step to maintaining expensive knives. You will look at those cheap sharpeners with disdain after using this. I highly recommend this. Bonus that a sharp knife is safer to work with.
It's a good product and a valuable tool that every kitchen should have.
Thank you, everything according to the description, it came in a month, I recommend.
The product is of very good quality and is exactly what is shown in the images, I am completely satisfied with what came home and also a week before what was agreed in the app, highly recommended and very grateful.
I would have liked to buy this same type stone setup in a larger size. That aside, these days not a lot of folks carry a pocket knife or ever sharpen a knife or were never taught how to sharpen a knife because sharpening stones are getting harder to find. It works well if the operator knows what they are doing. Mostly I sharpen knives with it but also wood chisels. It works well. Also sewing scissors can be done on this setup as well. Not much more to say. There is a coarse, medium, and fine stone on this setup. I have work space such that I decided to screw it to a bench. A couple of C clamps on the edge of a work bench will do if your space is limited. It needs to be secured so you can " get 'er done" correctly, i.e. apply enough pressure to affect the blade as you draw it across the stone. Don't forget to use oil on the stones as you use them. For what I paid for these stones it was a good purchase. Hint: youtube has videos to teach you how to sharpen a knife if you need instruction.
Very fast delivery and descent price.
They have a good size and good quality. I sharpened everything perfectly.
This stone is 4" long. With my nerve damage, it's easy to hold, unlike smaller models. I don't know the grit for the diamond plate, but it quickly sharpens a dull(ish) blade. The synthetic sapphire side is approx the equivalent of 14,000 (fourteen thousand) grit, and does an excellent job of polishing the cutting edge. (The synthetic sapphire is a "polisher", not a "sharpener", don't try to use the sapphire to sharpen your blade's edge and then complain that it didn't work. Of course it didn't. That's why there's a diamond plate.) Remember, too, that this tool is designed by a premier knifemaker, Fallkniven, for use on their knives. If it works on theirs, it'll work on ours, too.
Perfect sharp and almost polished. I 've already passed all the knives through the stone and it's like the first day. Add it has a good size.
I don't believe that this is the best all around knife sharpening system but it definitely has its place in your life. If you are like me and require every knife to have an always razor sharp edge then you know how important a quality knife sharpening system is. Over the years I have purchased many different ways to keep a sharp edge and most of them don't get the job done alone. This isn't a sharpening system to get a razor edge or do a reprofile. What this is though is a system that will take an already sharp edge that has lost its ability to be razor fine and bring your blade back to being useful. This is the product that you would want in your pack when in the bush and need to touch up your blade from the days work.
no oil, no water, just caveman it into a mirror polish. Iv'e used this to give a mirror finish to knives and gun parts when other stones, files and sandpaper left me wishing i had taken up other interests like crack cocaine or suicide. this sharpener actually gets my knives super sharp, but i use it for more than that, any sort of metal work that needs a high shine surface for lubricity ends up being completed on the dc4. Use it to fine tune shapes into metal, I used it to fit the mainspring housing on my 1911 and will likely use it to fit other parts. massively useful, and for the price, you will not find a better tool to sharpen a knife with.
