Cat loves it. He had been scratching our living room carpet but now just uses his mat, he likes to nap on it as well. We put some catnip on it too
We tried the cardboard scratchers and the upright pole scratching posts, but our cat prefers a horizontal surface. She was using our fireplace bricks, which is what clued us in to her horizontal scratching needs, so we ordered this mat. She loves it! When she's not scratching it, she's sleeping on it, or rolling around on it, bunching it up and rubbing her head on it. It's definitely a hit, and a good price too.
It's so good, that I will b getting another one! Thank You so much! Prosperity to You Guys and success!
E' della taglia giusta. E' molto buona. Al mio gatto piace molto. Grazie.
Good quality, my cat likes it very much, recommended!!!
I bought two. My cat LOVES them! He loves sisal. He doesn't scratch the furniture anymore. Hopefully you will have the same success.
I just adopted a cat about a month ago and am living in a freshly refurnished rental (great for us, not for the cat). I have been panicked that she will, destroy the nice, new, plush carpet. I bought a cat tree for the living room and another cat scratching post for my bedroom, but whenever she is not in either of those places she DOES NOT go out of her way to use the acceptable scratching places, she decides the floor beneath her works just fine... She started using this immediately when I put it down and I have seen her use it quite a few times since then. I still see her scratch at the carpet sometimes but it is no where near as frequent now that I have a scratching mat in most areas of the apartment. It is also not 100% unsightly to look at, although I wish there was a larger variety of mat colors, because I have a dark grey carpet and bought the beige mat, which obviously does not work well together. Aside from that, I definitely recommend!
My picky ragdoll loves this mat. The second I set it down, he rolled over on it, scratched it, and was otherwise in heaven. I highly recommend this mat. It is sturdy, easy to fold up, and does not have a weird smell like so many sisal mats do. It even has two different surfaces for scratching and feline enrichment. Jackson Galaxy recommends the no yes method. If a cat is misbehaving, distract them with something better. My cat used to claw the sofa, but now he loves this mat instead. I may get another one to put on a wall or DIY ramp.
I originally bought one of these to place on the floor and our cats LOVE it. I bought two cardboard scratchers and hung them on a wall for them to scratch, and although they worked, they got cardboard shreds EVERYWHERE and they don’t last. So I just bought to more of these and screwed them right into the wall with screws with screw caps. Cute, functional, affordable, saves the couch and dining chairs! I love these!
I purchased this as an alternative for my senior cat. She didn’t take to it because she’s never been one to scratch the carpet, and didn’t understand that the mat was for scratching. That’s no one’s fault, of course. She’s a very good cat. So I passed the mat to my younger cat, who loves to scratch the carpet. She figured out what the mat was for easily. Then got off the mat and scratched the carpet next to it while staring me dead in the face. In short: Product is good. Cats are jerks.
Nice looking, sturdy, and seems to lay flat while my cats are scratching it. One of my cats likes to scratch the sofa or side of bed before jumping up (and has put many holes in our sheets). I put one next to the sofa and she immediately went to work on it and then got on the sofa without scratching it. I’ve only had them for a day so I’ll continue to monitor their behavior, but seems to be working and I’ve already ordered two more for the floor near the bed. Nice alternative to putting bulky (and expensive) posts everywhere or using messy cardboard scratchers.
I happened across this when I was ordering more of the corrugated cardboard scratchers that I normally buy for my cat. I wasn't sure what to expect but have been pleasantly surprised. My cat loves it and will lay/roll on it more so than the cardboard pads. I really like that I can take it outside and shake off any little fibers that have come loose or excess catnip. Compare that to the corrugated pads that tend to shed bits of tagboard that migrate around the house and are a pain to pick up. As my cat wears the other corrugated pads, I will be replacing them with these woven sisal mats. They're a great value.
Scratching mat at the top, nothing to report. I recommend to 100%
Very good rug. It lays on the floor and our cat uses it.
Our cat has been going to town on the carpets. We bought this mat, hoping that it would satisfy her scratching desires. She completely ignores it. We have placed it over her favorite scratching spots, have spritzed it with catnip spray - and have tried putting treats and toys on it. She has zero interest. With that said: I have updated our review to five stars because of the excellent customer service. The company reached out to us (after I posted the review above), with true concern over whether or not there was a problem with the mat itself: The mat itself is high quality - and the concern from the company about making our experience right, is admirable and appreciated. In our case, the “dissatisfaction” was simply that this mat didn’t suit our kitty’s personal tastes and preferences.
Its upside down in the picture I attached. I've been having issues with my cat scratching on the corner of my beds box spring/bed skirt, as well with the spare bed, and the carpet in front of my bedroom door. So what I did was put it under the mattress over top the area he was scratching. It took him a while but he eventually starting using it. Now he doesnt really scratch at the carpet in front of the door. I also bought him 3 other scratching boards contributing to the scratching post and the turbo toy that has a scratching thing in it. 😑 As of now this is the one I actually see him using. 😬 however is light weight so I have to constantly put it back in thst spot. I need to weight it down so it'll stay 😄 I am happy with it
I bought this to use as a cover for my cat's window shelf, which is a plastic frame with gaps. The original cover and foam were destroyed so I used thick cardboard tied down, but even that was doomed. So I figure I get her something nice she can scratch and that will hopefully take her abuse. I used plastic ties and pushed a sharp object through the matt to mount it and it is GREAT!!! My cat likes it. (My cat would let me know if she was displeased.) Now she can scratch and bite it all she wants. Sure, the hair will get caught in it with time, but that is a small thing compared to finding cardboard/hair chunks all over the place. The only thing I need to watch for is the edges which seems like the weakest part of the matt. It looks like it might loosen with time, but we will see. For now I am relived it worked out.
*My opinion The first thing I noticed about these mats (2 mats for 2 cats) is how exceptionally well made they are. Sisal is both attractive and sturdy and they’d work well as a doormat, kitchen mat or for any high traffic area that would benefit from a small throw rug. *The cats' opinion With the help of a little catnip, each cat each claimed one immediately. The mats haven't become a major scratching place yet, but they like sisal, so I expect they'll use them more once they've made it clear that it's *their* idea. I may drape one over the side of the sofa or nail one to the wall, as another reviewer suggested. Their versatility is an unexpected plus.
Quality is good and as described - happy with the order shipping was a bit slower than all other products ordered that same day but still -- good quality - so happy
I have an indoor feral cat. I can't touch her so I can't clip her claws. She was using the side of my bed, my rug, and the front of my couch to sharpen her claws. From the moment I put down this mat, it is the only place she sharpens her claws now. She also enjoys simply laying on it at times. I also bought a standing scratcher at the same time, and she doesn't even touch that. This mat was probably the best purchase I ever made for this sweet girl! Edit to add...we have 2 month old kitten from a different feral cat, and the kitten instinctively uses this mat and only this mat to sharpen his claws.
I like it very much, my cat loves it and uses it very much, it's very good
I had to replace my kitchen rug because my cat tore it up with scratching. I got rid of the rug and replaced it with this (not great for standing) after a week I moved it over and the cat kept using it. About a week after that I replaced my kitchen rug and my cat hasn't gone near it, just kept scratching the cat rug. Great for cats in a small space (it doesn't block any walkway) or who just prefer to scratch on flat surfaces.
It's great! I had a co-worker that once owned a pet store. I was going to get a cat post for scratching. The one thing we don't want our cats to do is scratch up on our furniture & curtains, so why would you train them do do that. Made perfectly good sense to me. I have not noticed her scratching my sofa..... She does kneed on my throw blanket when she comes to sit with me on the sofa. But that I can replace. Of course the cat nip helps....but a better habit to scratch there then up on a post because in my experience they don't use it anyway.
This product is heavy duty and well woven. What I love also that it comes with sticker pads so if you have a cat scratches on something in particular whether it be Furniture or a door frame or whatever you can attach this. I think I need to get another one I wouldn’t want to be without this now. I actually laid it on my bed for her to check it out and the minute she land on it she started clawing at it. It looks like it feels good to her
Recommend. The cat immediately loved and sharpened the nails. We're happy.
