These are the best clamps I own. Bought the 18" for greater reach and am glad I did.
Wonderful clamps. A must have for every shop.
Solid construction. These work great.
Love the Irwin quick-grip bar clamps. They're not Bessey or Jorgensen, but they don't cost like those either. The Irwin clamps are strong and reliable, and hold up over time. I have some that are over 10 years old and they still work like new.
You obviously can't expect these clamps to work on jobs where a great amount of clamping pressure is required, but for small jobs, they are just fine. I used mine to hold some glued pieces together while making a wooden trellis. They open and release easily, the clamp faces sit square on the work surface, and the clamping trigger worked smoothly. I didn't push the pressure any further than I thought the mechanism could handle, but it was more than enough to keep the pieces firmly pressed together.
I have been a woodworker for over 30 years and these are some of the easiest clamps to handle, versatile, easy to both clamp and release. One can never have too many clamps and of various sizes. Great Price - fast shipping. It just doesn't get any better than this! Even the small ones have plenty of strength.
Absolutely what I needed. I've used these before and unfortunately sold them to a friend thinking I'd never need them again, wrong. Installing laminate wood flooring in our mobile home, because the carpet is crappy, and only 4 years old. Doing the middle room and Master bedroom. These little grips are perfect since I have no garage or work table. Just lay the laminate in my deck railing and use these to secure it do I can cut it with my cordless jig/reciprocating saw. Very handy to keep in a tool collection.
I was recommended these over cheaper and over more expensive brands. For the price on sale they are hard to beat.
I have several of the original "Quick Clamp" that I bought decades ago. They now appear to be made by Irwin. Although slightly different from the originals, they are just as good. These are the handiest clamps in my shop. Just about any time I'm working in my shop, whether it's woodworking, electronics, metalworking, or painting, I use these clamps. They are perfect as an extra set of hands to hold something from moving. They are light to medium duty clamps, which is fine for most of the things I do. The ability to put it in place and clamp it tight, all with just one hand, is what makes these so handy.
I love these little guys. I had to put up new screen on a covered porch and doing is by myself was almost impossible. One section was 9 foot high and 5 foot wide. I used these to hold the weight of the screen while I fastened the top. They worked like a champ. I also like the fact that there is one small trigger to release them and then another trigger to tighten them up so you can operate them one handed. This is my first project using them and I can think of a dozen other things I can use them for.
I use multiple generations of these clamps, from back when they were made in the USA to the modern imported ones, and I can't find a different in build quality. Honestly, I prefer the modern ones becuase I've never had a pad fall off which is a common issue with old ones. We even found a few of these left behind on the edge of our lake by contractors. Despite being submerged countless times and left in direct Florida sunlight for a year we hit them with some rust remover, scotchbrite, and a bit of 3-In-1 Oil and they are still in service today. You wouldn't even know which ones they are except for how faded they are.
Use these to clamp straight edge for circular saw cutting of plywood, etc. Holds 2x4's & such for nail/screwing. These are a MUST have for solo projects where holding things in place when an extra set of hands are needed. Also, let these things be your hands in dangerous areas & where precision is needed. These are definitely the right tool for typical home owners for weekend projects. I have 2 sets of these, & sets of 3 footers & even tiny 6" set for delicate projects like school projects for the kids, etc. Great buy... & I shopped... these are the best price for the product compared to lowes/HD & other online retailers.
