Cleaning of this superior quality heavy stainless steel press is incredibly easy. Pour out the grounds, give it a good rinse and dry with a paper towel inside and out. I use it at least 3 times a day. It makes 2 large mugs of coffee or 4 smaller cups. I use bottled spring water - which is what I also used in my drip coffee maker - but since nothing is boiling up inside the coffee press - there is no residue, mineral deposits, or nasty soaked coffee grounds.

When my drip coffee maker died recently I was not happy with the long succession of failed coffee makers - since I drink a lot of coffee, and often entertain visitors who love a good cup of coffee, I wanted to make a total change in the preparation. So I purchased this coffee press together with an electric pot to boil water. I was a bit skeptical at first, assuming that it would pose a cleaning problem. But, to my total delight I found it so much easier to clean than any drip coffee maker I had owned in the past. It makes a delicious fresh pot of coffee in about 10 minutes.

This must be the epitome of the French press experience! I've used the classic, cheap Bodom and that cools off too fast. I've used a Starbucks brand 24 ounce insulated, and that was OK, but it blew up in my face once for how hard it was to press (yes, I use the correct coarse grind). I've got another $100 32 oz insulated press that's also hard to press. This one is a BREEZE and yet somehow seems to FILTER BETTER at the same time?! Like magic! And, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cover that closes and opens by a slanted wall inside; just align the arrow to the spout and it's open, slide around and it's closed so it STAY HOTTER which is all why we want an insulated press to begin with. It does make a full 50 oz of coffee; I use 1/2 cup of coarse grounds. LOVE THIS PRESS!!!!! And, you can't beat the price. ENJOY!!!

My husband and I switched to a French press several years ago for flavor and consistency. We've broken two glass decanters and the last press we had was flimsy and the screen kept popping off. This was an investment for us, and I was nervous about using a stainless steel press. I was concerned about flavor and I didn't know how I'd feel about the screens scraping the sides of the decanter. From the very first use this has been a superior piece of equipment. It's sturdy, the taste is no different than other pressed we've used, and the screens glide down the sides of the decanter. Five months in and I love it. This may be the last French Press we will ever buy.

This is a great french press. It does in fact keep the coffee warm but I still put the coffee in a thermos when finished brewing to keep it hot for longer. I got this press for the larger size because the one I was using was only 32 oz. I must admit I only get about 8 oz of coffee more but sometimes that is enough. The Secura says it contains 1500 ml but that is not exactly true because it does so only when filled up to the tip top and obviously you can't do that. The plunger is rather thick and you also have grounds that take up space so you really only get about 40 oz of actual coffee. This doesn't interfere with my enjoyment of the press however. I also love the fact that is made in the good old USA. That makes a substantial difference to me. I would definitely recommend getting this French Press.

Very sturdy all stainless steel construction. I use double screens on mine(included in the box) and am happy with the filtering, I've compared it to two other presses I have (smaller sizes) and it very comparable. It can bubble up when pressing sometimes, but this is because the coffee floats to the top and forms a layer, so when you try to press it, it can't go through the screen, just give it a gentle stir before pressing and the problem is gone. The coffee stays hot for a long time, you just have to remember to turn the top after pouring, it has a pouring position and a closed position, it you leave it open it will naturally cool off faster, otherwise it is a double walled construction and holds the temperature well.

This is a NICE French press. Attractive polished stainless steel, and a 50-oz capacity (that's 10 5-oz cups in the coffee maker's Lilliputian world). I've made several pots so far, and they were delicious. Very little residue ... if you use a coarse grind. The stainless is high-quality, and will keep the coffee warm longer than glass. Some feel that coffee left in a French press will gradually become more bitter because the grounds are there, but I haven't noticed a problem with that. The press is tight and seems to keep the pressed grounds isolated from the remaining coffee. This press is also very quick and easy to clean. That, plus no paper filter makes it my easiest pot of coffee in the morning. I've used an automatic drip for years, but the coffee's been just average. And the internal workings of the automatic eventually get a little groaty ... even with periodic maintenance. I also own and occasionally still use a 50-oz Chemex, mostly for those who want to filter their coffee to a fare thee well. Unfortunately, for my tastes, this process seems to remove some of the coffee flavor that I like, which the Secura does not remove. One more thing: no need to worry about replacement carafes due to glass breakage. This unit was priced below its value in my opinion ($45 when I purchased). Can't imagine you'll find a better press or price.

I don't need to mess with those flimsy coffee filters - and best of all the flavor is incredible because the natural oils of the coffee beans are not trapped in a paper filter - so when you taste that fresh coffee it has retained all of its natural flavors. It takes about half as much ground coffee as what is needed from a drip coffee maker - so it saves me a lot of money too. You never have to worry about forgetting to turn off the coffee maker - because it is not connected to electricity - and it is so well insulated with double walls and a thick insulated top that the coffee remains steaming hot for the second cup. I recommend this product - not only a beautiful design that looks great on the kitchen counter, but saves money on filters and electricity. It is safer to use, easy to clean, and best of all it turns out delicious coffee.

This thing cleans beautifully with warm soapy water and if you dry the outside immediately it just shines. My husband and I make a pot of french press every morning in this. We originally bought it for travel but we use it every day to keep the second cup warm while we're drinking the first. The coffee stays hot about 45 min which I believe somebody else agreed with. We use 10 oz mugs and it makes 2 mugs each plus another 1/2 mug or so depending on how high we fill it initially. We usually fill right to the beginning of the spout. It is not airtight. Came with extra screen. If you push too hard too fast, the bottom of the plunger bends cockeyed slightly and you get a muddier pot. So I would say the bottom piece of metal (not the one with the spring) could be beefier to prevent this.

had this for several months now, still love it. all drip makers eventually leak, tried a keurig and did not like at all (constant clogging), have had french press in the past and love the concept, but not the breakable glass. enter this one that is metal AND big enough for several servings of coffee! win, win, win! definitely recommend, this is a nice looking pot and works really well.

The French Press Coffee Maker, 34-Ounce, is our first French press and we love it. The design is beautiful and we love that it's insulated. Being newbies with a French press, it took us a few rounds before we found the best grind for the beans and the best steeping time for our coffee, but the press worked great--the filtering screens do an excellent job of keeping any grounds out of our cups. There's very little silt either--just delicious fresh coffee. The 34-ounce size is perfect for two people. We use larger mugs and there's plenty for us both, with enough left for one more smaller cup. The seller, delivered our item very quickly and in perfect shape. We highly recommend this French press for anyone who wants a great cup of coffee.

Now that is some coffee! Nothing simpler, in terms of use. It's a rather large french press. And let me tell you, it makes some fantastical coffee. You might want to ease up on the amount of coffee though. My wife, the resident coffee addict/fanatic, got her first cup (and second) over the weekend, and is now a big fan. Actually, she might be a tad afraid of it. She had the jitters Saturday and Sunday morning. Yep. My two-giant-cups-every-morning wife tapped out before she even finished a cup and still had the jitters. To be clear, she had nothing but praise until about 3 hours later when she was still wired. Kudos! I had one (small) cup and damn skippy that stuff will get your motor running. It takes all of 2-4 minutes longer than the percolating coffee maker we used to use, but we sure as hell make up for that lost time with sheer caffeine-powered enthusiasm later.

My decision to order this French Press coffee maker was guided by several past issues. Broken carafe that I couldn't find a proper replacement for; carafe that spilled coffee each and everytime I went to pour coffee; bad tasting coffee; too small of a coffee maker; not easy to keep clean; don't want to worry about a coffee maker that stops working. All of these issues after spending good money for different coffee makers. That being said this coffee maker didn't cost an arm and a leg; came quickly; looks great; is easy to clean; won't quit working; coffee tastes great; doesn't take long to make coffee; makes the right amount of coffee. I am very happy with this purchase and all I have to do is heat water. How simple is that. Great buy!

My husband has broken glass french presses in the past and he said next one he wanted stainless steel. While he didn't break this one this time, the mesh filters were finally done, so we decided to move onto a whole knew french press rather than replace the parts. He's happy with this so far! The handle is comfortable, the insulation definitely helps keep the coffee warm, and the extra mesh filters are really appreciated. Looks like the top is built to be double walled too - hopefully the channel for the press is completely sealed off on the sides so water can't get inside the top. I've seen terrible reviews on other products of water getting in and horrible rotting things eventually coming out or the metal rotting from the inside out. One of those things that only time will tell. If it's sealed properly and we don't have that problem in the future, this will easily be the best french press we've ever had.

I have had several French Presses but they don't usually last longer than 2 years because I'll eventually accidentally break the glass. I bought this stainless steel French Press to bring on camping trips and road trips. But, on the weekends and especially during this epidemic Stay at Home period, my regular 32oz French Press hasn't been large enough to support me, my partner, and our daily coffee habit. So we have developed a habit of using both the and this French press each day. And gradually I have begun to prefer this stainless steel over the because it's larger, easier and faster to clean, and insulates the temperature of the coffee better than the glass design. I'm glad I purchased this and would recommend over the Bodum for these reasons and the anticipated durability of stainless steel over glass.

I appreciated the very nice instructions that came with this. They helped ease my first-timer worries and set me up for success. The only thing I could have done better was not let my water get to a full boil in my kettle first, but that was also covered in the instructions and I missed it.

Had purchased the glass budom, which easily broke. This is much larger and better. Easier to allow for multiple american sized cups of coffee. It remains hot for a long while , like a thermos. Its built sturdy. I personally am glad I bought this instead of a another glass one. I grind whole bean coffee fresh - coarse grind. The filter does a great job. It truly tastes so much better this way then using any other coffee machine. I didn't ever drink coffee black because of the bitter taste through my nespresso or keurigs or even DeLonghi. This simple device makes the coffee so much smoother I could even officially drink it black. Less sugar, less milk, more coffee -- finally!
