I just install this guard on my JEEP, n I love it so much I order some more to add to my fenders
I purchased this product to replace a cheaper, vinyl door edge guard that wouldn't stay in place. The Winunite product was easily installed (a rubber mallet is a good choice) and it appears that it will do what I want, and that's to protect the door edges. The edge guard installs quickly and the entire process took me about 25 minutes to do all four doors on my Subaru Outback. I had enough "extra" that I could install an additional guard across the bottom of the rear lift gate. The product itself is a thicker rubber that feels very substantial and I would expect that it will last for a long time. The embedded stainless steel clip appears to hold strongly.
Absolutely love this product. A truly high quality product. My husband was so impressed with the ease of applying the strip and the quality he is going to recommend this product to his buddies.
Extremely easy to install. Once in place it stays put and looks really neat. A single roll was enough to put in both my cars. And it highlights the edge of the doors nicely. I like the fact that it doesn’t use any sort of glue which in previous attempts with other products and cars or mine real residue which with time start making the door look nasty.
This edge guard exceeds my expectations in every way possible. Looks great, performs even better, price is fantastic. I bought it for fender flares, to protect my truck's paint. This trim even contours over bumps and imperfections and does not move, it becomes part of anything is meant to protect.
Easy to use, I say start putting it on and use a blunt object to really get the trim as close in to the door as you can so it can have a snug fit( so the doors close) then you can use scissors or a utility knife to cut it. It looks metal but if you look there’s little scores where the metal is in sections so you can cut the trim. I did all four doors and the back and still had enough for another car. Looks natural and doesn’t bulge and stick out on the car. Doors close perfectly fine, puts up with the weather just fine
Unless you own a car lot measure before you buy. The box has a lot in it. Done 3 cars and still have more to spare. Two cars are black, blends well. One silver sticks out like a sore thumb.
easy, looks good and protects the edges....whats not to like....its think...goes around edge nice...grimps hard not coming off....no glue so can be removed....just not going to fall off on its own. Only thing is you do need..gap space open between the door ...if your door is thight...wont work. need a gap...for the rubber :)
Love the thickness, love the ease of installation. I highly recommend tapping on with rubber mallet as you go for tight perfect fit. Had enough to do all four doors of my Jeep Cherokee and all four doors on my wife's Scion xB. Highly recommended to aid with door incidents.
This stuff worked great. I bought the 32' strand and it was enough to do my Silverado and 2018 Honda Accord. All you need is a measuring tape, a pair of diagonal pliers, and a rubber hammer to install. Usual garage tools. First door took me a few minutes to figure out, but once I got it, it installed very quickly. Tight fit. We'll see how it lasts.
Easy to cut, easy to install, looks great! Recommend following advice of others regarding removing any metal exposed by cutting strips with a pair of needle-nose pliers, and cutting the strips just an inch or two longer before starting placement on vehicle (much less wrestling with the guards while placing them, and more precise placement). I cut my guards using tin snips, and lightly tapped into place with a rubber mallet. Once you have your first strip done, you have enough experience to get the rest of the doors completed in minutes.
I had enough for all doors, with a lot to spare, so also did the back hatch as well. Doors close just fine on my 2020 Bolt, so while it is tihicker than the cheap stuff, it does not affect functionality.
I bought some of the cheaper stick-on door guards back in 2017 for another car and they were okay, until the adhesive wore out. Combination of car washing and just overall road dust caused it to slowly peel away.
I also used this on some bar stools . The stools have a metal back, so when they spin around they chip away at the marble counter tops that we installed. I put this door edge guard on the stools and it does a great job of protecting the counter tops. I'm sure that I will find other uses for it.
I also put this on a Honda Odyssey and it installed very easy. The total installation time for my four door truck and van was about an hour, so it's something you can do over lunch if you wanted. It was extremely easy to install. If you can use a pair of scissors, you can install this edge guard.
Very simple installation. I had another door trim that I had installed on my truck, but it failed to hold at highway speeds. It left a gooey mess with the glue that it left behind as it blow off. This door guard seems so much better. It was nice and pliable, so it followed the contour of the door and seemed to hold very well. I used some strong shears to cut it, and some needle nose pliers to pull out any metal that showed after the cut. I was able to push it on pretty easy and tapped it down with a rubber mallet. I took my truck on the highway and the edge guard seems very secure and looks like it will hold.
This product is very easy to cut, take out the metal strip inside, and mount with fingers and a rubber mallet. I've been meaning to add it to my car and it took a few wind gusts throwing my door into a gas pump to get me on it. Installation was quick, went on smoothly and tight, I haven't checked yet about it trapping moisture possibly inside the track but will pull one strip off in a few days and check. I bought 32 feet but it wasn't quite enough to do my 4 doors plus the trunk. I did the doors and two sides of the trunk, was a few inches short across on a 4 door sedan. The black blends right in with my dark blue car - which I like - unless you're right up on it you don't notice it. Another positive is it's not holding mud or dust in the textured surface, was a little worried about it cleaning up, and also holding up going down the road at high speeds. No issues, I think this was a good purchase to protect my door edges from further damage.
Replaced the old adhesive door guards that never seemed to adhere and kept coming off. Very easy to install and cut. Used a rubber mallet to pound into place. A hammer would work too but just put a towel or something over the edging to soften the hits. Grabs well and holds in place nicely. Almost has the look of a carbon fiber pattern which looked good as my interior dash has that look. Ordered 16ft which did all 4 doors and I also did the trunk. Cut to fit with regular house scissors. 10/10 would recommend.
I do want more to put on the hood, the part next to the windshield to seal out some road noises. I'm not in my car a great deal, but when I am, I like it quiet with exception of my lovely music. I'm giving durability 5 stars in hopes that it last the life of the vehicle. Looking forward to less noise/dust and cold. Wish me luck!
I purchased this because the door edge had so many paint chips on the edge I couldn’t stand the thought of sitting there painstakingly trying to do it with touch up paint. As you can see the picture above. I also wasn’t sure of which color to purchase but opted to go for the contrast. I open it up and look at the end and I can’t figure out what metal piece to pull out. But just dig around for it kind of and you’ll find the metal clip as seen in the picture. I actually cut mine at a slight angle so would meet the above trim better. And then I started the install. I HIGHLY recommend starting it by hand then use the mallet. There is metal in there and if you get it Cadywompus it will bend out of shape And I tried to bend it back but it just wouldn’t work. Which I did and then started over. Ultimately it installed easily and I wasn’t sure if I would like the contrast but I really do. (My car is usually not that dirty but we are just one day on the other side of the snow/ice storm in Texas.
